Conference History
The Do the Write Thing Writing Workshop is part of the activities of the The National Get Over Your Love Hangover Week and Conference which was founded by author Shewanda Riley (Love Hangover:  Moving From Pain to Purpose After a Relationship Ends) in 2001.  It is held annually the 3rd week of June and is designed to provide practical tools  for building and maintaining strong relationships.  Both the conference and book have been featured in JET Magazine. The book, Love Hangover, is also an Essence Magazine best-seller.  In 2007, Riley founded The Do the Write Thing Writing Workshop,  a writing workshop that promotes the gift of communicating through writing.
